How about sports in kharkov? What do You have in terms of martial arts? Years ago I took sambo. Instructor was really good middleweight. I think NUrMUHANEDOV was His name. Here in California many people like Kick boxing and UFC. Many people just like karate. In canda and east they have schools for sambo. How about tennis? Do many people play? Here they love tennis. I wish I got interested in somethign else, not JUST martial arts. I taught for while. Even now I teach cops and help one young fighter in UFC. He is getting good.

Even though I am not a Kharkovite, I remember one MMA fighter is from Kharkov - Igor Vovchanchyn. You probably heard of him. This guy is really awesome on the ring.

There are several great fighters in the west who are from russia/ukraine/belorus. One of them is Andrey Arlovski "the pit bull" . There was another one .He is a US Marine , but is a ukrainian guy an OUTSTANDING sambo fighter. He was trained, I think , on the East Coast. Gymnastics also is a popular sport in the last 10 yars or so.
