considers the result of presidantal election as a huge blow to Poroshenko.

“Ukraine’s TV president is going to become Ukraine’s real president. It is fantastic,”-* said a BBC correspondent after the announcement of the exit poll results.

BBC* qualifies the election campaign as conducted alternatively to the classical canons and based on the role of Zelenskyi in the TV series Servant of the People. Zelenskyi effectively performed an “anti-campaign”. He avoided political rallies and speeches, and instead concentrated to routine activities with his comedic group. There was very little in the way of politics or ideas, except for the promise of being new and different. There were few serious interviews, there were not many press conferences either.

*calls Zelenskyi a novice in politics whose steps are difficult to predict. Zelenskyi’s biggest role as presidential hopeful resonated well with an electorate tired of economic turmoil, militant rhetoric and escalating tensions with Russia. The team of advisors he’s chosen – a group of reform-minded technocrats – appear to be a potential signal towards the type of Ukraine he’d like to lead, one poised to act as a bridge between civil society and politics.

dedicated one of its editorial articles to the newly elected President of Ukraine.*Ukraine is expected to continue on a pro-western path with Volodymyr Zelenskyi as president, seeking strong ties with the United States, Britain and other European states.

According to the publication, the new leader of Ukraine cannot afford to be deceived by Putin.

“The election of the comedian Volodymyr Zelenskyi as a new president is not a reason for jokes,” said the newspaper. “His huge victory means that a person without political experience will become the commander-in-chief of a country who considers itself in an undeclared war with Russia. The danger is obvious: Zelenskyi can manipulate by Volodymyr Putin, master of political maneuvers. ”

The Times writes, Ukraine needs a leader who is ready to defend the integrity of the country and can cooperate with the West in creating a modern national army capable of deterring further actions by Russia.

writes that Ukraine entered uncharted political waters after final results showed a comedian with no political experience and few detailed policies had dramatically upended the status quo and won the country’s presidential election by a landslide.

“Since there is complete uncertainty about the economic policy of the person who will become president, we simply don’t know what is going to happen and that worries the financial community,” said Serhiy Fursa, an investment banker at Dragon Capital in Kiev. The United States, the European Union and Russia will be closely watching Zelenskyi’s foreign policy pronouncements to see if and how he might try to end the war against pro-Russian separatists.

*writes that Mr. Zelensky’s victory will *deliver a stinging rebuke to a political and business establishment represented by Mr. Poroshenko, a billionaire candy tycoon who campaigned on the nationalist slogan “Army, language, faith.” After five years of grinding war with Russian proxies in the east of Ukraine, voters appeared to send a signal that they were more concerned with the internal menaces of corruption and poverty — ignoring Mr. Poroshenko’s warning, delivered after he cast his own ballot on Sunday, that voting for a comedian “is not funny” and could lead to “painful” consequences.
